Wine Wallet 's new web app is here—and it turns your digital wine cellar into a real dashboard: real-time market value, clear statistics, and the complete provenance of every bottle. Read on to find out what these updates have to offer—whether you're using a desktop or a smartphone.
Your Basement as a Dashboard: Market Value and Statistics
The new web app shows you your wine cellar in numbers. At a glance, you can see what’s in it, how it’s changing, and what it’s currently worth. The whole thing feels a bit like checking your own wallet—only with wine instead of stocks, ETFs, or crypto.
A new feature is the integration with WineLabs: The market value of your wines is based on real sales data and is updated continuously. This lets you see at a glance what your bottles are currently worth—without having to research prices yourself.
Your Basement as a Dashboard: Market Value and Statistics
The dashboard analyzes your inventory from various perspectives:
- The total value of your wine cellar and how it changes over the months
- Cellar Activity: How Many Bottles Were Added and Removed
- Grape Varieties – from Grüner Veltliner to Riesling to Pinot Noir
- Wine Types: Red, White, Rosé, Sparkling, Fortified, and more
- Origin: Does it come more from France or from Austria? And if it’s Austria—are you more focused on the Wachau region or Carnuntum?
- Vintages in your collection
This is especially fun if you enjoy working with numbers. And even if you don't, you'll finally have a clear overview of an inventory that has grown over the years.
Just to clarify: We are sommeliers and wine experts, not investment advisors. The market value shown is for informational purposes only and is based on actual sales data—it is not a promise of returns, nor is it an investment recommendation.
Provenance: Every Bottle's Digital History
Provenance is our core focus—and in the new web application, it becomes even more tangible. The idea behind it is simple: We give every bottle a digital history. Where was it purchased? Directly from winemakers or through a retailer? When did it arrive at our facility, what does the delivery slip say, and what did it look like during inspection?
This is more than just a nice-to-have. For wines that are meant to age or remain in stock for years, provenance is key to building trust—and often determines their value. After all, that’s often the challenge when reselling: you don’t know where a bottle comes from or how it was stored. When a wine comes directly from winemakers to us and has been stored exclusively by us ever since, we can provide a complete and unbroken record of its history.
Four steps, complete documentation
Each stop is recorded with the date and receipt:
- Purchased: The source and purchase price are documented, and the invoice is filed.
- Delivered & Received: Each delivery is assigned a storage number, along with the number of bottles, cartons, and the delivery slip.
- Quality Check: Our sommelier inspects each bottle individually and takes a photo of it—checking the fill level, label, and capsule. Only when everything is in order do we move on.
- In storage: off to a secure, climate-controlled, and insured storage space.
The documents for each step are on hand—invoice, delivery slip, quality report—along with the photos from the quality check. If the chain is complete, the provenance is fully documented.
It’s important to note: We don’t sell you the wines; we store and document them. As an independent third party, we simply record what actually happened. This is precisely the foundation for the high-quality marketplace for verified wines that we’re gradually setting up.
"Every bottle gets a digital history—from purchase to its storage location."
Set up just like your own online store
In the web app, your wine collection is organized just like you’d expect from a good online store. Every bottle is listed, complete with a photo, origin, vintage, and quantity. And you can filter your search by red, white, rosé, or sparkling wine; by country and region; by alcohol content; and more. This way, even in a large collection, you can instantly find the bottle you’re looking for.
The nice bonus: You have a complete overview of your wine collection—even without your own cellar. If you want to open a bottle or taste it, you can reserve it with just one click. We’ll then ship it to your home or to the address of your choice.
Putting in and taking out—everything at a glance
Under “Deliveries,” you can see all incoming and outgoing shipments at a glance—including their status and quality check results. You can immediately tell which wines have just been received, which are undergoing quality checks, and which are already in storage. Just click on “Details,” and you’ll see the entire history, including all documents.
And because your inventory is completely digital, you have it with you wherever you go: on your desktop as well as on your phone, 24/7, no matter where you are.
